Improving Our Golf Games…’Becoming Our Own Coach!" - Part 3

The Performance Cycle

As our exposure to the game grows we will recognized that we are in a cycle. Either our skill level inches up a bit as our exposure continues or we plateau out and keep cycling at the same level. Either way it’s good… if we are content at that particular level. The cycle has to do with Preparation / Performance / Analysis.

Whatever level we are at, we going to do some sort of preparation, some sort of practice, or get some new equipment which is a form of preparation. We’re then going to play (performance). Following the round we’re then going to analyze, even if it’s nothing more than feeling good or bad about how we just played. At whatever level of play we are, from beginner to tournament player there is a Performance Cycle that we will go through. What we do during this cycle very much determines whether or not we improve with our games. What we have here is something that is fun and simple to use. Call it a ‘roadmap’ for game improvement.

To become better coaches, which is to keep ourselves excited and motivated about our efforts, we’ll master it ‘one hole at a time’. Learn to work on the ‘right things, in the right way, at the right time’. And ‘get the validation we need to make sure we are ‘on a good path’.

Let’s take the ‘up ramp’ on our performance cycle, improve the way we play, and have some fun with this game!

Call or email me for a ‘tee-time’ to start the process!
