tgm123logo.jpg  TGM Golf Path-  As we indicated, there is a lot of information out there as to game improvement and it is all good stuff (well... let's say the majority of it is good).  TGM 's path focuses on:

What absolutely has to happen in the golf swing (mechanical aspects)
How you best develop these mechanics (physical aspects)
When/Where this process best takes place (tactical aspects)

To Improve we 'Have-To' do certain things... Here are some of your 'Have-To's':

  • You 'Have-To' get on a 'path for improvement', and stay there
  • You 'Have-To' understand the What / How / Where & When  aspects
  • You 'Have-To' have good information (from a proven source)
  • You 'Have-To' have good feedback (video and mirrors / shot results)
  • You 'Have-To' have validation (assure yourself that you are on track)
  • You 'Have-To' do your 'homework'
  • You 'Have-To' overlook results when working on your 'mechanics'
  • You 'Have-To' set a good 'angle'... (it's your primary power source)
  • You 'Have-To' move the angle through a good, consistant swingpath... (for your direction)
  • You 'Have-To' have a good 'release action'... (to get your best power & direction)
  • You 'Have-To' do some 'mirror work'...(for feedback)
  • You 'Have-To' pay attention to your golf club (it's a tool, use it as it is designed to be used)
  • You 'Have-To' teach and train your subconscious mind to make these movements (like walking, handling a knife & fork, or buttoning your shirt or blouse, 'you don't consciously think about these movements...you just do them'.  Therefore, hundreds (over time thousands) of correct repetitions are required for the movements to genuinely register in your subconscious mind.  At first this 'homework' assignment may seem daunting, but it really is not for you can make these movements anywhere, at any time.  Your subconscious mind, where motor skill movements are controlled just does what it has been trained to do.  Therefore, when you make a swinging movement your subconscious really doesn't know whether you are in a hotel room, in the garage or on the golf course, it's just doing what your conscious mind asked it to do...swing.  Therefore, it's not so challenging for us to make 'thousands' of swings.  For example, if, for a 30 day period you will do the following drill / excercise (called the 'ready/set/go' drill) we promise, no...we guarantee that your golf swing's development will be on the right path!

    'Ready'...'Set'...'Go!'

Your 'At-Home or anywhere', "Ready/Set/Go" Practice and Excercise Drill:

Read 'Here's what you want to 'feel' during the drill' below...and get up from your computer as we are showing here and 'do the drill' right now!)

     Position 1- Set-Up: "Ready"      Position 2- Angle-Set: "Set"      Position 3- Released: "Go!"

    • Your drill takes all of 1 to 2 minutes to do!...(so "I can't find the time", is no excuse, period!)
    • Your drill can be done anywhere (and basically anytime)
    • You don't need any special excercise equipment or training-aides
    • You will do 50 or so 'swings' per day
    • 2 minutes making 50 or so 'swings / day' X 30 days = 1500 or so 'swings' with only 60  minutes of time invested...that's 1 hour out of a month!
    • Understand What you are doing here, and How to do it correctly
    • The drill addresses all three aspects of the swing development process
1- Mechanical- (tool), You're repeating correct movements & positions
2- Physical- (body), You're building rhythm & timing through movement, it's excercise
3- Tactical- (mind), As you make these 'swings', 'imagine' that you are also hitting golf shots

Here's what you want to 'feel' during the drill:

Position 1- "Ready"   A good, athletic 'set-up' with your spine straight, shoulders back and tilted at the hips.  Arms out in front as though you are addressing the ball.  Hands apart as though you are holding a soccer ball.

Position 2 - "Set"   While keeping your spine angle constant, turn your shoulders on a vertical axis (front shoulder moves toward the ball / trailing shoulder moves away from the ball).  As your shoulders turn keep your arms directly in front of your body and feel your forearms rotate until your thumbs point upwards and slightly behind you.  Feel a full shoulder turn (maybe 90 degrees or so) with a short arm swing.

Position 3 - "Go!"   Continuing to maintain that good spine angle, 'swing' your arms downward where the ball would be and past your body to a point about even with where you were in position #2.  As you 'swing' your arms 'down-and-through' the 'impact-area' feel your forearms 'rotating' so that your thumbs are again pointing upwards and slightly behind you at the end of your 'swing'.

    Ready!                                    Set!                                 Go!

Ready / Set / Go with the 'Release Board'

The 'Ready / Set / Go Drill' duplicates the feelings and sensations that you experience with the 'Release Board'...where the board 'puts you into correct positions'...the 'R-S-G Drill' can be done anywhere, anytime...just make sure that you are 'feeling the correct movements and positions' as described above.
